From 8 till 14 October an educational trip was held for members of the Gubkin university SPE student chapter in Hungary and Austria was. The delegation of 12 people not only was acquainted with the culture and traditions of these countries, but also visited the oil and gas companies, such as MOL Group (Hungary) and OMV Group (Austria).
In MOL group it was shown a presentation about company history, development plans and recruitment strategy. In addition, HR director invited our students to participate in MOL programs such as UPPP and FRESHHH.
Austrian OMV Group representatives held a tour to the production facilities at the field Madsen, during which our students visited the separator structure, two gilds for the preparation of water, underground gas storage. The final part was a visit to the well repairment brigade, where future engineers described a method of preparation of the well to the repair methods for solving problems arising in the operation of wells. This trip made a lasting impression, and, most importantly, allowed to acquire new knowledge in the field of oil and gas field business.
In addition, the delegation visited the city of Leoben, where the famous Leoben Mining University (Montanuniversität Leoben) is located. Inside the walls of the University, students visited the Department of Geology and Petroleum Engineering, where they saw laboratory equipment for scientific research in the field of oil and gas. Professors and graduate students of the University gladly demonstrated their equipment and told about their work.
The entire period activists and the president of a local SPE chapter accompanied our team. Our students were impressed with the hospitality of Austrian colleagues. They are very thankful for this trip and are looking forward for future cooperation!
